Grainne joined Acquired Brain Injury Ireland as Policy and Research Manager in 2014. She is responsible for the strategic development of the organisation’s research and policy agenda. The work includes developing research partnerships, collaborations and alliances, developing and growing the organisation’s research capacity, securing research funding and creating opportunities for knowledge transfer and networking. Grainne’s work also includes engaging in policy analysis, stakeholder engagement and political advocacy to campaign for increased investment in neuro-rehabilitation services in Ireland. Prior to this role, Grainne worked for more than ten years as the Policy and Research Manager with The Alzheimer Society of Ireland. Throughout her career, Grainne has lead out on several research , campaign and policy advocacy projects in the community and voluntary sector and has significant experience of working on rights-based agendas and community development for marginalised and disadvantaged people. She has been a keynote speaker at Irish, European and international conferences and events. She holds a Bachelor of Social Science from University College Dublin and a Master of Arts in Social Policy Analysis from NUI Maynooth.
